John Finch (Call 850-699-2613 or Click here to email) is the developer whose brainchild, Alaqua Commercial Park will soon be providing opportunities for businesses large and small on Highway 331. This 23 acres tract of land is located 3½ miles from Interstate 10 and 15 miles from Highway 98.
In his new endeavor, Alaqua Commercial Park, Finch would like to be conscious of the environment. During the Environmental Assessment of the property, Gopher tortoises were found to be living and breeding there. Finch decided to relocate the tortoises to the Nokuse Plantation in Freeport. “It takes a lot of time and effort and money to plan around endangered species and trying to save as many trees as possible, but I am willing to do it,” says Finch. The development itself will be on the cutting edge of energy efficiency. Along with initiatives such as solar reflective roofs and translucent ceiling panels, Finch is making a major investment in geothermal heating and cooling systems, which uses renewable resources to provide energy and is as environmentally friendly as it gets.
“I’ve done a lot of research so that I can give back to Mother Earth.”
“Long before construction began, John asked for our help to make sure his commercial facilities were developed with energy efficiency in mind,” said Bradshaw.
“He is very interested in green technologies. When it comes to making sure that his
development is in tune with the environment, John’s dedication is unsurpassed.”
